Oregon State University Buys Dogs & Cats to Kill in Vet Classroom Experiments

Wednesday January 19 by Claudia bournepets.com
Students at Oregon State University (OSU) have been protesting that school's purchase of 60 dogs and 20 cats for the School of Veterinary Medicine. The animals are used to teach surgical techniques to veterinary students, and then are killed. These are healthy animals who do not need the procedures performed on them and most certainly do not need to be killed. OSU refuses to consider alternatives used by other more progressive Veterinary Schools, including computer simulators, along with assisting veterinarians doing actual needed surgeries on animals.
